Selena Gomez and The SceneThe annual Disney Christmas Parade aired over the weekend on ABC, just in time for Christmas! And of the many performers who took the stage included singers Mariah Carey and Selena Gomez.
MC gave a rendition of “Oh Santa” (a track from her new Merry Christmas II You album) along “All I Want for Christmas is You” (from her 1994 Merry Christmas album), while Selena Gomez performed the classic Christmas song “Winter Wonderland.”

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber dating might not be that far-fetched as you would think and we think so.
18-year old Disney star Selena Gomez is rumored to be seeing 16 year old pop sensation, Justin Bieber. The two singers have been spotted at various locales (IHOP, Miami, Bieber’s tour bus…) acting super friendly with one another. Interestingly, Gomez has also stopped wearing her chastity ring, which was purchased at Selena’s request by her father back in 2008. The ring has inscribed on it, “True Love Waits,” and is a Christian-chic silver design.
The ring represents a promise to abstain from sex until marriage. At the time, Selena Gomez said, “He went to the church and got it blessed. He actually used me as an example for other kids…I’m going to keep my promise to myself, to my family, and to God.”
Purity schmurity. It’s hard being a role model, and its easy being easy. Far be it from me to judge Selena for losing the ring. She’s an adult now, and a lot changes in two years. Still, Gomez claims that she and Justin Bieber are “just friends”.
Could Selena have chucked her chastity ring for skinny Justin Bieber, the kid with feathered hair and squeaky voice? I would think that to score with a gal like Gomez, Bieber would have to exude a vibe less Lance Bass and more Tarzan, but who knows, maybe he is straight after all. Then again, maybe Selena will save herself, staying pure till marriage like Jessica Simpson. We all know how well that worked for her.
As families and friends gathered for Christmas, Selena Gomez and Jackie Chan amongst others turned to twitter to spread their cheer.
Christmas Day this year was celebrated through twitter for many as people swamped the network with greetings, funny quotes, video blogs, gossip and jokes.
While youtube remains the number 1 video sharing network in the world, often videos are first promoted through social networks such as twitter and facebook to reach fans.
This year, celebrities including actress Selena Gomez and Karate man Jackie didn’t hesitate to upload video messages for the fans using social media.
Selena Gomez and The Scene sat down together to thank fans for Holiday wishes with some ‘gooofy laughs’ whilst Jackie Chan did a more direct approach with a personal message to his followers in an interview style video.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may have been spotted on a few snack dates recently, but don’t look too much into it.
“People ask me, you know, if we have friends in the business, friends who aren’t in the business, and I say yeah, I’m very lucky I have friends who are in it,” she told PEOPLE at Z100′s Jingle Ball, which airs Thursday on the music network Fuse. “We’re not any different. We’re very lucky, but we just like to hang out. They shouldn’t be stopping us from going out to dinner and things like that.”
Bieber, who also performed at the concert, was still pinching himself over his Grammy nominations. “I’m very excited. It’s definitely amazing. I’m really excited I have this opportunity,” he told PEOPLE backstage.
Gomez says she’s just as excited about her pal’s nominations. “He worked so hard and I definitely think he deserves it.”
Selena Gomez is a star of the screen and the stage but says she hates disappointing her parents.
We’re not sure how Selena could possibly disappoint her parents, seeing as she’s been a star since she was small and has a successful TV and music career under her belt already.
However, according to Music Rooms, Selena admitted: “For me I feel not communicating with my parents or not listening to them is the biggest mistake I have made.
“It’s always good to talk to them. They’re very nice people. I don’t know why I’m scared of them!”
She added: “The biggest issue with me is fights with my parents. I don’t handle them very well. I hate it when they say they’re disappointed in me or I’ve made them upset.”
Selena Gomez has praised Nicki Minaj’s debut album.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star took to her Twitter account to reveal that she is a fan of Minaj, who released Pink Friday in November.
“I think Nicki Minaj should take over the world. She’s a beast!! Genius. Loveeeee her. Pink Friday (sic),” she wrote.
Pink Friday entered the US charts at number two behind Kanye West, who scored his fourth chart-topping record with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Gomez is not the only celebrity to recently voice her admiration for Minaj. Kim Kardashian previously thanked the rapper for name-checking her and siblings Kourtney and Khloe in the track ‘Girls Fall Like Dominoes’.
Selena Gomez has revealed that she is attracted to Twilight character Edward Cullen.
The 18-year-old singer and actress said that she is drawn to the vampire but is not interested in Robert Pattinson, who acts as Cullen.
She told Top of the Pops: “When I watched the first Twilight film, I definitely liked Edward. Do I think Robert Pattinson is hot? I think Edward, his character, is.”
Gomez also said that despite her friend Taylor Lautner playing werewolf Jacob Black in the movies, she is still “Team Edward”.
She explained: “I can’t help being in Team Edward! But Taylor is great in the movies, too, though. He’s super-talented.”
Awww! Selena Gomez recorded a message for her friend Taylor Swift, which was played at the CMT Artists of the Year event. Selena says she is so proud of Taylor and that she is honored that she was able to be a part of her life this past year when things were really hectic for Taylor.

Selena Gomez and the Scene are set to sing live at the Z100 Jingle Ball in NYC this Friday, but Selena sang two songs the LA Jingle Ball this past weekend. She sang Year Without Rain and Rock God. You can catch the video at the bottom of this post.
I have to say that Selena’s outfit for the performance was a little daring on her half, but at the same time, I like the concept of a genie. I think she could have managed the outfit in a better way. What do you think?
Will you watch her NYC Jingle Ball performance on Fuse? I wish my local cable company offered Fuse, but they do not. I hope at least it can be streamed or someone will record it to post on YouTube. Selena has been so busy this year, I hope after she finishes her media tour she will take some time off. She has earned it all the way, if she does take some time off after the holidays.
