Selena Gomez revealed to Radio Disney that she has one rule when it comes to dating a guy: he has to call her on the telephone.
“A boy should call you,” said Celebuzz’s reigning Teen Queen, “But I’m really picky and that’s probably why I’m alone.”
Watch a video of Selena’s interview below. It must be hard for average 18-year-old boys to keep up with Selena’s rising star. Aside from starring in Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena also has a hit record out (A Year Without Rain) and several movie projects in the works.
The 18-year-old beauty’s picky attitude towards men hasn’t thrown off some famous dudes from attempting to court her–Selena infamously rejected Jersey Shore’s Vinny at the VMAs earlier this month.
Later in her interview, Selena revealed that there are “no rules” when it comes to love: “I think [love] is all confusing [...] just call, there are no rules, no three days [to wait and call], there’s no nothing.”
Selena has dated quite a few teen heartthrobs in the past. The “Round and Round” songbird has been linked to Nick Jonas and the studly Taylor Lautner.
How does Selena Gomez get her voice in tiptop shape before a concert? She has a warm-up routine – and it’s not a traditional one: She drinks olive oil.
“It’s awful,” Gomez tells Ellen DeGeneres in an interview set to run on her talk show Wednesday. “You let it go down and it coats your throat. I gag every time.”
So where did Gomez, 18, learn the trick? From Kelly Clarkson – though the two haven’t actually met in person.
“I read it in an interview,” she says, “so, I just copied her.”
“So, you know it’s true,” DeGeneres responds, joking. “Everything you read in a magazine is true.”
Another thing that’s not true: any talk of a possible romance with fellow teen pop star Justin Bieber, who, at 16, is two years her junior.
“What? Oh brother,” Gomez, who’s been involved with Nick Jonas off and on for a couple of years, says. “He’s little. He’s like my little brother. That’s weird to me.”
“You’re a cute couple,” DeGeneres teases back. “I’m just saying.”
What’s better than one of our favorite artists rocking a stellar new song? How about TWO of our favorite artists rocking a stellar new song? For her just-released album A Year Without Rain, Selena Gomez went to great lengths to get Katy Perry’s song “Rock God” on her latest EP.
“Katy Perry gave me a song called ‘Rock God.’ It’s one of my favorite songs ever,” Selena told MTV News of the tune, which also features Katy’s backup vocals. “I actually had to fight for that song. I wanted it so bad. It’s kind of funky, and I think I used her style and we kind of mixed it up with the producers that I worked with with my style, so we made it a little bit more techno.”
Though Selena knew Katy from industry events, she didn’t mix business with pleasure when it came to asking Katy for the fun, funky song. “We actually have the same music agent, so whenever she’d have concerts and stuff, I’m a huge fan, so I definitely would go to most of her shows. And I’ve seen her at a couple of events, so I’ve talked to her,” Selena explained. “But when it came to music, I didn’t want to get in personally. I was like, ‘I’ll ask through the proper channels and see if she’ll give it to me,’ and she was thrilled, so I was happy.”

Gomez revealed that she mixed up her sound a bit on the new release and went a little “techno” with the music, states Hollyscoop. But despite the change, she still considers the album “a lot of good feel music.”
And don’t forget to check out some of the collaborations on the new album, all of which Gomez is really proud about, as well as all the songs you can dance to now.
